The Dubsmash sensation turned TV personality and now actress, Mendoza popularly known as ‘Yaya Dub’ has just won her first major acting award at the Metro Manila Film Festival awards for her role in ‘My Pabebe Love’ on December 27.
Surprised about the result, Mendoza took to Twitter her view on her win, in anticipation of bashing from netizens and moviegoers.
“Bago po ako i-bash ng sambayanan, mauuna na ako. Bakit ako? Pero maraming salamat po. Magandang umaga sa lahat!,” Mendoza said on Twitter (@mainedcm).
In the movie, Mendoza plays the role of Anna, a spoiled brat daughter of Vic Sotto. She competed against Nova Villa and Iza Calzado in the category. The actress wasn’t able to receive her award personally as she’s having vacation in Japan with her family.
‘My Bebe Love,’ which also stars her onscreen partner Alden Richards of Aldub, Sotto, and AiAi Delas Alas currently leads the box office of MMFF 2015. The movie also wom 3rd Best Picture and the Gat. Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.
